Elleebana Shields v.s Elleebana Rods
Diving into the World of Lash Lifting: A Guide for Beginners
When you’re new to the world of lash lifting, the sheer variety of products can feel overwhelming. From lotions to an array of shields and glues, it’s tough to know what to choose and how products differ. In this blog, we’ll focus on a key topic to bring clarity: the different shields in the Elleebana collection and their unique features.
Elleebana Flex Rods
These original shields have been a trusted staple in the Elleebana Lash Lift range for years, becoming an essential tool for many salons. Initially introduced as simple orange rods, they have evolved into anatomically designed shields made of super-soft silicone, which (in most cases) don’t require glue on the underside.
Their anatomical shape makes them easy to position around the eye, simplifying application. If you’re still using the older, basic rods, it’s time to upgrade to the Flex Rods!
As you likely know, shields are crucial for a successful lash lift. The natural position of the lashes is reshaped, following the form of the selected shield.
The Flex Rods fall under the category of round shields, creating a beautiful C curl.
Elleebana Flex Shields
This impressive addition to the Elleebana shield range has been available for some time and serves as the second evolution of their shield offerings. They were first introduced as a firmer version called the Elleebana Extreme Shields. If you’re searching for those, you’re now looking at the Elleebana Flex Shields.
The Extreme Shields have been replaced by these Flex Shields, which are now crafted from ultra-soft silicone and shaped anatomically. Like the Flex Rods, these shields are designed to fit perfectly around the eye and often don’t require glue on the underside.
The Flex Shields can’t be categorized under just one shape because their curvature changes with the size of the shield. However, all sizes deliver a lift with an L curl. Unlike many other L-curl shields, the larger sizes of these shields—due to their added height—are suitable for lifting longer lashes effectively.
Visualizing the Shield’s Impact
Understanding how lashes are lifted is key to selecting the right shield. To help you, we’ve cut the shields in half to reveal their precise shape. This makes it easier to visualize how lashes will look after the lift, based on the shield’s curve.

What Makes the New Flex Collection Stand Out?
The Flex collection offers several advantages:
- Ultra-Soft Silicone: Its flexibility ensures the shields are easy to place on the eye. They won’t pop off in the corners, significantly reducing application time.
- No Glue on the Underside: Skipping glue saves time and reduces the risk of irritation on the eyelid. Cleaning the eyes post-lift becomes easier, as there’s no glue residue left on the lids.
- Effortless Adhesion: Thanks to the soft silicone, lashes stick to the shields more easily, whether you’re using glue balm or regular glue.
